Full and Half Day Rides
ELGIN RAILWAY MARKET
Elgin Railway Market - Half Day Trip (Approximately 4 Hours)
Join us for a ride to one of the top markets in South Africa. Our ride starts in Strand at The Cafe Racer Restaurant parking lot as we head through Gordon’s Bay and up onto Sir Lowry’s Pass. We then head towards the Elgin Valley and stop at the Elgin Railway Market. The market is an old apple warehouse which has been converted into a steampunk themed station where one is able to spend time at the various food stalls and vendors of all sorts. Be sure not to eat breakfast before we leave as there is a vast array of culinary delights awaiting our arrival. Over the weekends, the market is visited by the whistle and steam of an old steam train and is a site to see on its own.
We then head back to Strand via Sir Lowry’s Pass and stop at a lookout point where we experience awesome views of False Bay overlooking Gordon’s Bay, Strand and Sommerset West. Drop off point is at The Cafe Racer Restaurant in Strand. Don’t forget to bring your camera/Go-Pro!
